About Our Founder

Rick Ogden was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama.  Armed with a degree in Accounting and a Minor in Finance from Tuskegee University, he started his professional career. He built a successful IT Firm with his wife, Toy. They also had 3 beautiful daughters together between 1992 and 2002.

But in 2006, the unthinkable happened, Rick received a kidney failure diagnosis. He spent the next 9 years on kidney dialysis three times a week, four hours per day, while continuing to operate a successful IT Firm.

Through his journey of becoming a Transplant Recipient, he has lived and seen the disadvantages that these challenges can have on a patient’s family and loved ones.  It’s life altering to say the least.

This has led him to start a nonprofit organization called “The Levi Experience”.

The idea and name was inspired by the birth of his one and only grandson, Levi.  He realized the journey that he continued to live with each and every day, could have gone in a different direction. But he knew one thing for sure, that life was worth LIVING.

The Levi Experience will focus on areas commonly overlooked by organizations that haven’t had the real-life experiences.
